Basic Eligibility for Aid & Attendance
The following are the general eligibility requirements for the VA Aid & Attendance benefit. Eligibility is determined by the VA and is subject to income and asset thresholds that change annually.
- ✓Served at least 90 days of active duty with at least one day during a wartime period
- ✓Discharged under conditions other than dishonorable
- ✓Meet the VA's income and asset requirements
- ✓Require assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, or meal preparation
